It's been awhile since I posted

Hi Jared, it's been awhile since I have posted anything here, it has been great talking to you every week since your cellmate got a phone. I don't know how he did it but it has been so nice of him to let you call me every week and talk for an hour. It has made a big difference hearing your voice and discovering how well you have done there under these circumstances and that you sound the same.

Just a few more months and this will be over and you will begin living a normal life again.
There will be obstacles but we will conquer them one at a time.
I miss you and love you.
God Bless You,
Mom

  1. That's so great you're able to talk to your son. I know how important it is to talk to our sons. You had mentioned that you hadn't talked to your son in 3 years. I was just wondering why he hasn't had phone privileges? My son is serving a life sentence with possible parole in 25. He has been in Maximum, locked up 23 hours a day, but has always been able to call me, at least once a week, unless the whole unit is in lock-down. That's so great that your son will be home soon.

  2. Because I don't have a landline.
His cell mate had a cell phone smuggled in and when my son told him he hadn't spoken to me in 3 years he let him call. Every Friday night for about 3 months we would talk sometimes for an hour, it was great. His cellmate got transferred about 2 months ago so that ended. I really appreciated what he did for us. The first time a call came through I was sleeping, I woke up to see a text 'This is Jared'. I thought maybe the prison was being cool and letting him call so I sent a text back and he called. I was just so happy, beyond words.
